To all my artist friends and supporters who may have noticed I’ve been pretty quiet of late and haven’t posted much art. Well I’ve been in hospital for close to 2 months. I went in unable to walk with feet 3x’s their normal size and unable to bare my weight. All they’ve been able to prove is some inflammation in the feet (that took an MRI to discover, cause the visible inflammation wasn’t enough to prove it smh), and both feet have suffered nerve damage.

So far no test has shown anything to have caused it. They want to keep testing but I’m pretty confident that it’s a direct result of several years of extreme stress. Those hormones flooding the body with such regularity is going to effect the nervous system and nerves in my feet are a part of that system.

The finial result was to see me have a total emotional breakdown. I spent the last few weeks on the psych ward which oddly saw my feet improve. I think this backs up my theory as on the ward I had very little stress. I’m home now with their ‘care in the community’ support so hopefully that will see me back in hospital if needed before anything bad happens to force me back because of some harm suffered.

Thank you to everyone who left me lovely comments and such, it’s nice to come back to so much love.

Well it has been a while since I have done a journal entry. To be honest, almost everything is slowing down. I am not making as much art and struggling just to get to work. The reason is my belly! There is a little life growing in there! A baby boy

I am just entering my third trimester and pregnancy is really kicking my butt. I have a hip I can barely walk on, always painful now. I do have a physiotherapy session coming up but I wish they would let me take early maternity leave at work.  It's usually an easy job, not many hours a day at all (about 2, an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon) but it can be demanding and dangerous. I am of course a school crossing patrolwomen or lollipop lady (to the kids). I am not worried about coming back to work a little early because of the low hours, I should be able to fit feedings around work and hubby works from home so will be here most of the time anyway. My walks to work may well include company from both hubs but baby Neo (thats the name we have decided on for our little boy). It will all be worth it I am sure but being pregnant has stopped being fun, thats for sure!

In other news, the lovely fractalist :iconhippychick-nm: has gifted me a 3 month membership to DA. Hippychick, you totally rock! Gotta love a psychedelic hippy chick :peace:. Now I can do polls and can even beg for points (why not? I hear babies are expensive so no memberships for me that take food from babies mouth so to speak). I am also loving looking at all these skins for journals, I wonder if they will stay installed when the membership runs out?

Well there is more I could say but I want to go browse skins again!

All the best to you my very deviant friends!

This is not mine but I just had to share as I thought it was brilliant!!!

HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid
term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor
shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now
have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or
endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's
Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some
variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time..
So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at
which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets
to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many
souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the
world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of
their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these
religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can
project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we
can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look
at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in
order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of
Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are
added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which
souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until
all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of
souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes
over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my
Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and
take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two
must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen
over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it
follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore,
extinct.......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine
being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my
God.'

My fractious and disgruntled emotional state upon waking is tempered by a facetious facet. Hence my methodology for establishing an epithet for my artwork is subversive and nonsensical. My endeavors have been jocular, motivated by an irrelevance towards convention.

My deepest apologies if my nonsensicality has rendered you perplexed and bewildered, I can assure you that this was a calculated effort with no malice.

I keep coming across this wacky website and have finally decided to go ahead and get myself set up here. I am not totally sure what to expect but I do hope to find sharing my art here a very rewarding experience.

I will probably add works rapidly at first, as I cherry pick my favorites. I have a shop with zazzle at, www.zazzle.com/KirstenStar* and ideally will find this site coupled with my zazzle store will mean that I can make a real go of being a self employed artist.

I am also looking forward to getting to meet some of the fantastic artists already on this site. I imagine I will get to learn some new tips and tricks and find a great place to get inspiration and just hang out.

Here is to seeing all this and more happen in the year and years to come!
